Aligning walls in the house: what you need to know and recommendations

Many DIYers use gypsum plasterboard (GKL) to level walls when renovating their homes. The popularity of this material is due to the ability to quickly and relatively easily obtain a perfectly flat surface for subsequent decorative finishing.

But to perform high-quality work, you need to know and comply with all technological aspects. This will avoid problems such as the appearance of irregularities and the formation of cracks during the operation of gypsum plasterboard structures.

Frame – GKL is attached to a pre-mounted sheathing made of galvanized profiles. As a result, there is space between the wall and the sheathing, which can be used for laying heat and sound insulation material (for example, mineral wool) and laying in-house communications.

Frameless – this method involves attaching gypsum plasterboard sheets directly to the main wall using a special gypsum-based adhesive. In this case, there will be no inter-wall space, so electrical wiring and other communications will have to be laid along prepared grooves or carried out in an open way.
